The Apopka Family Learning Center's mission is the creation of a unique, educational environment of hope and encouragement for lifetime learning. The AFLC helps families address vital issues of education, literacy, parenting skills, health care, and money management. AFLC builds strong families one day at a time.

Description:
In 1977, the Justice and Peace Office, Inc. was created to empower low-income, minority, individuals and families of Central Florida to build better lives and to bring a brighter future within their reach through educational programs and supportive services. In our thirty year history, we have raised the standard for community-based organizations, extending our mission beyond the confines of our organization by working to establish other non-profit organizations that will support the poor. We have created several organizations, which include Homes in Partnership and the Community Trust Federal Credit Union. Two of our programs, Single Mothers In a Learning Environment (SMILE) and Greater Reading Or Writing Skills Literacy Council (GROWS), were so successful, that they became independent community-based organizations. Currently, JPO provides free translation and notarization services, advocacy, emergency financial assistance, and an academic enrichment program entitled Kids in Motion.
