The City of Sanford boasts a thriving RiverWalk on Lake Monroe, a bustling and expanding international airport, and unprecedented growth and redevelopment throughout the city.
Through the years, the Sanford Police Department has developed into a multi-faceted law enforcement team providing comprehensive services to the City of Sanford through the Primary Operations and Support Services Divisions. Traffic, K-9, Investigations, D.A.R.E., School Resource Officers, Special Tactical Unit Officers, Orlando/Sanford International Airport Officers and Drug Interdiction Officers work with our Patrol Officers to practice Community Oriented Policing.
By becoming partners with the community, we can address crime issues, solve problems in city neighborhoods and enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Sanford and its visitors. Some examples of this team approach are our Volunteer Citizens on Patrol (COP), Bike and Mounted Patrol programs.
The Sanford Police Department is undergoing many changes, utilizing the latest in technology, equipment, training and police management practices to provide the best service in our community. We welcome suggestions and comments from citizens that will help us be more efficient and responsive to the community we serve.
