We are actually six businesses under one roof and have a need for 13 different types of volunteers. First and foremost we are an ecumenical Christian ministry, our focus is to build affordable housing for hard working families/individuals who qualify. All families pay a down payment, put in 500 hrs of sweat equity and then pay a 20 - 30 year mortgage. We service our own mortgages so we also act as a mortgage banker. In addition to building homes we have a ReStore that accepts donations from contractors, businesses and individuals and sells these items (furniture, home improvement and household goods) to the public at greatly discounted prices to support our minnistry. We are also a social service agency, a property management company and a fundraising organization. We need volunteers to help construct/build homes homes and to serve on one of ten 910) different commmittees as well as the Board of Directors. Our website is www.habitat-apopka.org.
