Agency Details:
Friends Of The Orange County Library System - FL - Orlando
Friends of the Library make it possible for the Orange County Library System to improve the quality and scope of its services. Everyone should be able to enjoy the privileges of information access, entertainment and education found in a great library system-and the Friends work to make it happen!
Description:
The Friends of the Orange County Library System was first organized in 1947 as a group of citizens in support of our Library System and the role of public libraries in general. Over the years, the Friends have worked diligently to raise funds for the Library System and to educate people about the important role libraries play in enriching the community. Friends of the Library are people who know that a community with a first-rate library is a better place to live. Friends of the Library bring together involved, caring people who are willing to work for exceptional and innovative libraries. Although libraries are tax supported, the Friends of the Library help provide funding for extra services and programs. The Friends is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
