Camp Boggy Creek

The mission of Camp Boggy Creek is to enrich the lives of children who have chronic or life-threatening illnesses by creating camping experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound.

Description:
Camp Boggy Creek is a year round medical camping facility for children, ages 7-16, who have chronic or life-threatening illnesses. We are one of 14 camps, internationally, that are part of the HOLE IN THE WALL ASSOCIATION OF CAMPS which was started by the late actor Paul Newman. We serve over 13 different illness groups including heart disease, HIV, sickle cell anemia, and cancer. The children who come to our camp come absolutely free of charge along with our volunteers. We are a not-for-profit organization, which depends entirely on the monetary generosity of others, as well as on the volunteer man-power to help make this experience happen for these children.

Our programs include 8 week-long summer camping sessions, which begin in June and run through August. Summer programs allow our kids a week of fun, adventure, and independence: catching their first fish, shooting a bow and arrow, or climbing the "tower" while helping them to create some incredible memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. Volunteers serve as Cabin Counselors, living and playing with our campers for an entire week of fun.

We have a TREMENDOUS NEED FOR MALE VOLUNTEERS during our summer camping season. We begin signing up for summer camp in February of each new year! In addition to volunteers, we hire 70 summer staff to act as Cabin Counselors all summer long. Please email staff@boggycreek.org if you are interested in a paid position this summer or email rbrubaker@boggycreek.org if you want to volunteer and change the life of a child! Please visit our website at www.boggycreek.org for details on how you can apply!

Cabin Counselor Position:
Summer volunteers serve as Cabin Counselors who live and play with our campers, helping to give them the best week of their life. Our week long residential camps offer our campers the chance to catch a fish, make a woodshop project, shoot some arrows or climb our ropes tower while building confidence and making some wonderful new friends. Each week of 8 summer camps we host a different illness group.

Volunteers are also needed to act as Airport Ambassadors who pick up volunteers at the airport, assistants in the Dining Hall, or if qualified, helpers at the Equestrian Center.
