Greyhound Ranch Adoptions, Inc. is a pro-greyhound organization set up to give refuge to greyhounds retiring from racing activities by providing shelter, medical care, rehabilitation, and foster-care programs. Our goal is to ready the canines for adoption into qualified homes. We devote a great deal of time to the education of the public regarding the history and development of the breed.
Description:
The fundamental mission of Greyhound Ranch Adoptions, Inc. is to provide shelter and medical care for greyhounds retiring from racing activities by providing foster-care and rehabilitation programs for these beautiful canines as they transition from the life of a regimented trained athlete to a household pet - - readying them for adoption to qualified homes, and for the education of the public regarding the history and development of the breed. Specifically, the volunteers at Greyhound Ranch Adoptions, Inc. focus on the preservation of greyhound lives, the permanent placement of greyhounds in adopting households, and the education of the public regarding the characteristics of the greyhound breed, the history of this companion and hunting animal, the plight of the greyhound in the racing industry, and the training of a volunteer staff in canine retrieval, health-care, foster-care, and educational endeavors.
