Our mission is to house, educate, love, counsel and care for the children in a spiritual and moral environment. The Ranch works closely with the families in an effort to reunite this child into a healthy, loving and productive unit that functions well at home and in the community.
Description:
Edgewood Children's Ranch was founded in 1966 as a residential program to rehabilitate, educate, counsel and care for youth and their families who are at risk of leading wasted or dangerous lives due to their own behavior and/or that of a parent(s). At Edgewood Children's Ranch we provide a safe, wholesome environment for each child in which he/she can advance to their appropriate academic level while learning self-ddiscipline, responsibility, respect and love of self and others. Both the child and parent(s)/guardian must agree to participate willingly in our program. Parents must attend a weekly parenting class in which they are taught the critical skills necessary to parent effectively. It is our goal to work with the family unit in this way to ensure that the child returns home to a functioning, loving family unit that is ready and able to contribute to, rather than be a burden to, the community.
