Lighthouse Central Florida promotes the independence of adults and children with blindness, low vision and other disabilities through technology, education and advocacy.
Description:
LCF provides Children's Services in the child's natural environment, visual stimulation, family field trips and the "Can Too" after school program for ages 6 to 13 with qualified instructors to develop functional skills and independence through Independent Living Skills, Assistive Technology, Orientation & Mobility and others. Adult Services offer critical safety procedures and navigation of public transportation via Orientation and Mobility Skills, Independent Living Skills of pre-Braille, basic computer skills, telephone and assistive device training, plus Personal and Home Management and the Family Workshop to increase understanding of the loved one's experience.
