The MODEL Mentoring Program recruits, trains and matches volunteer mentors with children that have at least one parent incarcerated in state or federal prison. The children being mentored are 4-18 years old and reside in Seminole, Orange and Osceola Counties.
Volunteer mentors will pick the child they are match with up from their home or school and do any number activities from working on homework to going to the movies, to simply throwing a ball in a park.

Mentors must be 21 or older and have a valid Florida Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance. Also, mentors must complete an application, an orientation/training, and submit to a background check, driving record check and a personal interview. Mentors must be able to commit to spending regular and consistent time of at least four hours a month and at least one year with their mentee. Mentoring hours are flexible based on mentor's availability.
