Canoe Clean-Ups Every Sunday

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on August 7, 2010

ECO-Action has built a fleet of 11 canoes used by volunteers any Sunday afternoon as we go to a different central Florida waterway to remove treacherous trash from the shoreline. Litter and other debris is very dangerous for wildlife, and we hope to remove it before an animal is injured or killed. It's a wonderful way to get out in nature, discover the real Florida, and help wildlife at the same time. No two trips have ever been alike, and we have performed over 550 of these weekly clean-ups and taken more than 6,000 volunteers on our waterways. We provide the canoes, equipment, gear, and a guide, and you provide the energy and enthusiasm.
There's more litter out there than we can possibly retrieve, but every bit we remove helps prevent injury or death to innocent wildlife.
For the critters,
Beth
