Be a children's rights advocate representing the best interests of a child in at-risk children's dependency court cases. Involves research through interviews with law enforcement, professionals and with the child and family members, and becoming a trusted friend of the child. This volunteer opportunity is for volunteers at least 21 YEARS in age, mature and for those concerned about child rights and the best interest of children. Extensive training will be provided and background check is required. We are seeking ideally adults and seniors. The Guardian Ad Litem training is specific to the program's appointment on dependency cases and not domestic/family court cases. Please understand we require a minimum of ONE YEAR Commitment from all new volunteers to the program.  This opportunity is sponsored by: Seminole Community Volunteer Program, Inc

I - 4 East - Exit at Lake Mary Boulevard. Turn right and follow Lake Mary Boulevard to College Drive (approximately 3 ½ miles) on right (Entrance to Seminole Community College). Follow road (keeping left) to stop sign and turn right onto Weldon Boulevard. Turn left into the second parking entrance and out builing is a grey portable building with burgundy trim and doors. Park in Parking Lot A directly in front of the building.
From 17-92 North to Sanford - Left at light onto County Home Road (at fire station and just before SPCA and Flea World). Bear left at fork by fire station. Follow road to stop sign and turn left. SCVP building is located on the left, behind the construction trades building. Grey portable building with burgundy trim and doors. Park in Parking Lot A directly in front of the building. |
