Project Homeless Connect is a one-day, one-stop event providing services to men, women and families experiencing homelessness-- connecting them with benefits, medical care, employment opportunities, substance abuse and mental health counseling, social services, food, emergency shelter and transitional housing information.
Homeless Services Network of Central Florida sponsors Project Homeless Connect events across Central Florida, including Orlando, Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties. More than 40 nonprofit agencies, faith-based groups, government agencies and businesses partcipate in each event. Volunteers are needed to serve food, greet guests, walk guests through services, hand out hygiene bags, help with registration, and assist with set-up and breakdown. Volunteers will also receive a t-shirt and lunch.
There will be a mandatory training for all volunteers the week of the event. Volunteers must be 18 or older.
