Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on October 29, 2009 |
Our volunteer availabilities are as follows: (all are 2 hour blocks except for the children's workshop which is 2.5 hours).
Viewing- This involves walking with a board member around the art festival making sure that all the rules are being followed (artist set up correctly, no dogs in the park, etc.) This is a wonderful way to see all of the art work at the festival. Please keep in mind there is a lot of walking involved. Volunteer times are 9-11, 11-1, 1-3, and 3-5 Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I need
Merchandising- This involves helping in selling merchandise (tshirts, posters, etc). There are is no exchange of cash with the volunteers. We have someone in each tent to handle the actual transactions. This position requires standing. If you have sales experience this would be wonderful, however not required. Groups of 3 friends can work this together. Volunteer times are 9-11, 11-1, 1-3, 3-5 and 5-6 Friday and Saturday and Sunday 9-11, 11-1, 1-3, and 3-5. I am looking for a total of 7-8 volunteers per shift.
Booth Sitting- This is the artist most favorite. Booth Sitting is just as it seems. Artist spend close to 10 hours a day selling their artwork and being at their booths. Sometimes they need a break to go to the bathroom or get something to eat. There is no selling of art work while they are gone, just making sure no one steals anything. Again, if this is perfect for those that want to see the festival. This is a single volunteer position, however, exceptions can be made on a case by case basis. There is a combination of walking and sitting. Volunteer times are Friday and Saturday 11-1 and 1-2, and Sunday 11-1, 1-3 and 4-5. I need a total of 6-8 volunteers per shift.
Children's Workshop (for groups)- This is best for groups of 15-20. This is a 2.5 hour volunteer commitment working in the children's workshop. There children are able to make their own artwork. Most of the children are under the age of 10. If you enjoy working with children than this is the place for you. Volunteer times are 10-12:30 and 12:30-3 both Saturday and Sunday. I need a total of 15-20 volunteers per shift.
