Danger Busters Volunteers Needed

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on August 2, 2010

Danger Busters is a program in which volunteers will partner with local law enforcement in targeting and visiting neighborhoods throughout Osceola County with households in need of improved safety and security. After the initial self introduction in the presence of law enforcement, volunteers will then complete a home safety assessment for those residents that wish to participate in the program.

Volunteers will use a standardized assessment to create a plan of action for improving household security, coordinating with the Volunteer Center who will follow up with other volunteer groups to perform repairs or install security devices such as smoke detectors, etc...

Volunteers will then perform another household security assessment to measure the level of improvement made.

  • Volunteers must have the desire to help their community.
  • Bilingual is an asset but not a requirement.
  • Volunteers must have their own transportation.
